Social Media Tips for Auto Dealers – Tuesday Tip Video Clip

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Hello again, it’s time for another Tuesday Tip Video Clip. This week, we’re going to talk about how to integrate social media with your dealer website, and how to make your various social media pages work for you.

Take a look at your website. Are you linking to your social media profiles? At a minimum, you should have links to Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus

“But Greg, I don’t want to be on social media. Those sites are for teenagers.”

Just because you don’t like social media or don’t use is personally doesn’t mean your customers don’t use it. Your customers are on sites like Facebook – and you need to be where they are. Social media has become an integral part of sales and marketing – plus, it’s also going to boost your SEO.

So – you’ve got your Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus pages set up. Awesome! Virtual high five. But you’ve got to do more than just have them out there – you have to make sure those pages reflect your website. You’ve put in a lot of effort to brand your dealership, right? Make sure that branding extends to your social media sites. For your profile picture, use your dealership’s logo. Use your dealership colors in your cover image and in your background image. If your trademark phrase is Howdy!, make sure you use that on your social media pages – if customers see Howdy! on your website, but “Good Day, Esteemed Customers” on your social media pages, it’s confusing and makes them wonder if it’s the same business.

Silly example, I know, but I hope it gets the point across. Make sure your social media pages reflect your dealership as much as your dealer website. Potential customers will appreciate it.

Now that you’ve got stellar social media pages, give customers easy access to them from your website. Are there social media icons on every single page on your site? You should include them as part of your banner, so that no matter what page a customer is on, they can easily reach your Facebook or Google+ page if they want to. If they’re only on your home page, you fail – Don’t make customers go back to the homepage, or try to search for your dealership on social media. If they are interested enough to want to check out your social profiles, you’ve got to make it easy for them to get there immediately, before they get distracted.

The takeaway for this week’s tip: have active, branded social media pages, and make them easily accessible from every page on your website. Have questions? Leave us a comment down below, or give us a call at 888-311-7386. Thanks for stopping by, and we’ll see you next week.
