Welcome to this week’s Tuesday Tip Video Clip. This week’s tip is a huge one… It’s really about user experience, but it also plays into SEO. We’re talking about your dealer website.

Your dealership’s website is almost always a customer’s first impression of your dealership. We’ve talked about this in past videos and blog posts – obviously, you want to make a great first impression.

But today, we’re going to talk about your competitors websites. STOP CHASING YOUR COMPETITORS! You’re better than that… And that’s the point of today’s video.

You’re better than your competitors – you know it, and your past customers know it – but your potential customers don’t.

Prove that you’re better – make your website awesome. Too many dealers spend all their time chasing their competitors. If Jim Bob’s Auto Sales has a page about something, well then gosh darn it, I need that page too! That’s not the right way to look at building your website!

Make your website the best possible customer experience it can be. Talk about your dealership, your staff, your experience in the industry. PLEASE show pictures of your dealership. You’ve got a personality, let it come across in your website. Beat your competitors by having a superior website experience.

If your website’s home page is just a slideshow of generic stock images and a handful of featured vehicles – with no text – it’s time to make a change. You absolutely HAVE to create a customer experience that makes people WANT to buy from you.

Don’t just have your website to have a website – actually USE it to sell cars.

The awesome thing about this is that it also helps you with your SEO. Instead of cramming a bunch of keywords onto your site to try to rank higher in Google, you’re actually creating a website with useful, relevant content – and THAT’S what Google wants to see.
